I like Johanna Hurwitz’s books because they are entertaining. Johanna Hurwitz came to our school and talked about her books and how she came up with her ideas. She talked about how her family life helped give her ideas for her books.

I liked when Johanna Hurwitz gave our class an autograph because thats my first real autograph from a famous author. I also liked when she gave us a book of hers, ‘The Unsigned Valentine’ for our class library. I can’t wait to read it.

What i learned from Johanna Hurwitz was that if an author has an adventure they start to write what happened. I was surprised when I heard my book group Base ball Fever was made long ago, and I thought it was new. My favorite part of the time with Johanna was when the class took a photo with Johanna Hurwitz.

Well, it was fun to meet Johanna Hurwitz because she makes me want to write books myself. We had a great experience with Johanna Hurwitz. She is a good writer because she uses very descriptive words to describe her characters. We talked about her future work and different characters. It was interesting when she told us she walks on the street like a normal person even though she is an author. MRS. HURWITZ, WE LOVE YOUR BOOKS, AND THANKS FOR VISITING US!

When meeting Johanna Hurwitz it was so cool. She told us about her first book she wrote when she was nine years old. Johanna Hurwitz taught us about the cool life of an author. It was shocking how Johanna’s friend, who helped her draw, never became an illustrator. Johanna Hurwitz is the coolest author ever. Also before she was an author she was a librarian. She’s making a new book called I Fooled You. She is cool.

When we met Johanna Hurwitz she told us that before she was an author she was a Librarian. Also, the most exciting thing she told us was that she made 1 new book called the The Unsigned Valentine. She gave the book to us which was really nice. She is making another book called I Fooled You! We asked her some questions such as “Is the book, Dede Takes Charge getting a sequel or are you making another book?” She also gave us ‘These I Fooled you’ bookmarks. On the back of these bookmarks is Johanna Hurwitz’s autograph. She also told us that when she was 9 years old she made this book and she was proud of the book.

Dear Johanna Hurwitz
I really enjoy reading your books. It was really nice to see you in person. I think you should make another Class President with the same characters but in a different school and different grade, and also a different teacher.

Meeting Johanna Hurwitz was a great experience! I loved hearing all her inspiration and some of her adventures. She was nice enough to give us a post card with her autograph on it and that was my first one. I learned that her brother didn’t start talking till he was 2 years old, too. Johanna Hurwitz rocked!!!!!!!

I liked Johanna Hurwitz answering all of our questions because it was things we wanted to find out about her books. Also, we got a piece of paper with her signature on it. I enjoyed it a lot. Johanna Hurwitz was very nice. I hope more classes will be able to meet her in the future sometime. I learned that most of the things Johanna Hurwitz writes about were things that were based on real life. They were things that she or someone did and also things she saw traveling. Meeting Johanna Hurwitz was such a great experience that I will never forget it!!!!

Today my class and I got to meet Johanna Hurwitz. My favorite part was when she talked about how she gets her ideas. That’s really important for me if I’m going to be an author. So I can use those strategies to get my ideas. What I learned from Mrs. Hurwitz is that she had a lot of exciting adventures.
