I think that global warming is a very serous problem. One way you can save energy is by switching to the floorsciet light bulb. (twisty bulb)
NOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE !!

Technology is a burden to our environment because each year , we throw away 12 million computers. Also at the end of 2004, we had junked 30 million cellphones , and the tech – trash goes to landfills. To help this problem we could donate our computers or cellphones to people who know how to make new cellphones and new computers by reusing the pieces inside of it.

wow!! techology is going to e-watse and did you know that you can recycle techology instead of thowing it on landfills about 20 millon computers cellphones and other are not recycle they are just thown on landfills and i think we can make a diffence that techology is going to be recycle not on landfills and donate cellphones computer and other to people that knows how to make cellphones computers and other. tech makes our life easier but sometimes it takes over our job. tech have to be reduse reuse and recycle.

You can do many things to recycle. If you don’t recycle yours and our Earth will be polluted and filled with poison. Here are a list of ways to recycle technology:
1) batteries
2) cellphones
3) computers
4) televisions
Here is a website that recycles batteries and more:

Technology is a burden.Because if you do not recycle your electronics it will lead to landfills. And if you do not recycle if you have a microwave it is full of posion.

There are many ways to save things. You can reuse lots of batteries. They have things that you can recharge the batteries so you could use it all over again .We could trade games that we have gotten and don’t want to play. The place you could trade the games at Game Stop.

I also know that you could try to find a way to recycle batteries.

Technology is burden to our environment because the animals that live in water are dying. Also people are throwing their old cellphones and buying new cellphones. I think that people should recycle old cellphones because if you throw your old cellphones they can spread poison into the earth, water, and air.

I think that technology is a benefit because it is poluting the earth by throwing away the computers , monitor and laptops. We could reuse the computers or we could save them. If you do not want to use your old games you could sell them to game stop. You could reuse your i pods or you could lend it to somebody. I think that you should check the website calledhttp://docs.google.com/View?id=dgt2bcc3_25m6hx6gx.

I think that technology is a benifit because it makes your life easier. But sometimes it can be a burden because i heard that the technology is taking over our jobs. People can recycle their tv ,computers, and phones. sometimes in Africa and some other countries people send their children to get metal and phones but what the parents really don’t know is in the land fill there are led poison. I feel that you should check out this website http://docs.google.com/View?id=dgt2bcc3_25m6hx6gx

Akashdeep 5-304 | January 20, 2010 at 4:57 pm

When you throw away tchnology you could just give it to the company because they could put a chip and you culd give it to people in need and they could call there family. When you throw away coputers you could give it to a differrent company and they could fix it and give it away
26.
Amit 5-321 | January 15, 2010 at 2:43 pm
I think people should not throw away their computers and cell phones. People should buy new ones and send the old ones to the the company. If people throw phones away the lead and mercury can get into the water we drink. If you get a new computer and want to throw it out take it to staples. You should also take your printer there.
27.
Javed 5-321 | January 15, 2010 at 2:42 pm
I think throwing away old computers and other technology is a bad thing. Instead you can use it again. People spend money on it and when you throw away the old technology you are wasting your money. Recycle your old technology. If you don’t want to use or recycle your old technology, you can give it to the people that don’t have any technology around the world. This is what we can do instead of throwing away your technology away.
28.
Brian 5-321 | January 15, 2010 at 2:42 pm
When your mom or dad gets a new phone they could leave it at the store where they buy it so the people could recycle it for you.
29.
Savvy 5-321 | January 15, 2010 at 2:39 pm
Wow!!! Day by day more and more laptops and desktops are getting trashed. Well this is what you can do, you can go to the shop where you bought the desktop or laptop and give it back so they can reuse it and sell it. Well if you do not want it no more do NOT trash it. Reuse it. Today N.Y.C is getting polluted. So help our city!!!
30.
amanda 5-304 | January 20, 2010 at 5:07 pm

Technology trash harms our environment because people throw away old computers they don’t want any more. Also in 2004 people dumped over 30 million cellphones. It goes in a landfill.A landfill is a piece of land with old technology. The technology ends up in a landfill and they spread poison to the earth water and air for miles of around.
34.
Kevin 5-309 | January 14, 2010 at 7:16 pm
Technology is a burden because since there is so much old equipment thrown in the landfill the lead and the Mercury gets into are water that we drink and could poison are body with the toxic poison. You can help prevent this problem from becoming worse by taking all of your old equipment to a place where people could send it to a recycling place to recycle it into something new.

Throwing computers out is bad for the environment because the poison called led goes into the ground. Then when it rains it gets into the water. To prevent this you can make new computer out of old parts. Each year we throw away 12 million computers. When you throw something out it is called e – waste
38.
Rubi 5-309 | January 14, 2010 at 7:04 pm
Technology is a burden to our environment because when new stuff comes out people throw their old stuffs to get the new stuff that is coming out. All of this waste in the landfills are polluting our environment.
I can help prevent this problem from becoming worse by recycling the stuff I don’t really need. Or donate it to a company that really need it.
39.
Fariha 5-309 | January 14, 2010 at 7:04 pm
People are throwing computers and gadgets in the landfills which gives out pollution. It is very bad for out environment and community. To recycle computers, workers are crushing and burning them so they can make new ones. We can prevent this problem by recycling our old appliances and electronics .

Dominic 5-309 | January 14, 2010 at 6:59 pm
This picture got me confused the first time I saw it… until I read the article along with it. This is a picture of computers in a land fill and that is a big problem for our environment. Computer’s have lead and mercury in it and when rain falls it seeps into the soil and gets carried away into our water reserves and when we drink our water we could be poisoned. You can prevent this problem from getting worse by refurbishing computer’s, which means you can use the parts from your old computer and put them into a new computer or use the raw materials to make all kinds of things like appliances to office buildings. Phones can also be recycled, students in New Mexico collected eleven bags of old and unwanted cell phones, sold it to a refurbishing company and donated the money to charity.

mohammed 5-309 | January 14, 2010 at 6:56 pm
Throwing out technology is a burden be cause it has poison and it spreads for miles. We can prevent this problem from becoming worse by turning old technology into new. Old machines have parts that you could re-use.

Technology is a burden to our environment because people throw away their old computers and cellphones from all over the world and it ends up in landfills. The lead from the computers and cellphones goes into the Earth’s soil and then it gets into the water we all drink today. We can stop this from happening if we start collecting the old technology and make use of it by making new technology with the recycled parts.

Technology is a burden because in 2004 our land fill had 30 million sell phones. That’s not good news for our environment. Now Kids and adults all over the world were cleaning land fills and e waste.

According to the article by the end of 2004, we had junked 30 million cell phones. Each year, we throw away 12 million computers. That is not good because the waste is being put in landfills and the lead from this equipment goes into the water and then we drink it. If we keep drink it we can die from it. We can give it to people who take it a part so they can use it again. So that away the lead do not go into the water and we do not drink it.

According to the article when Mercury and Lead leak from the old technology it ends up in a landfill and they spread poisons into the Earth, water and air for miles around. This is called E-waste and it’s becoming a big pollution problem around the world. When we drink the water that has poison in it , the water that has poison in it goes around our body. That is bad for you. We can help our community by reusing, and recycling the Technology.

Technology is a burden to our environment because when the piece of technology is sitting in the landfill. the lead go’s into the dirt, air, water this is called e-waste.
To help this problem from becoming worse we need to recycle technology instead of trowing it away.

I like that idea of helping soldiers talk to their families. Did you also know that you can recycle your ink at Staples. Go to this website to learn about how to recycle your ink. http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/spotCenter?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10051

I agree with you Jaclyn . Because when we send all of the old cellphones that we don’t use will help all those soldiers that will need to help the soldiers that need to call their families back home. And i also think that other people , not only us should be aware of what we are doing to the earth .

Technology is a burden to our environment. You can recycle DVD player by donating your player to companies. Also by using your old DVD player as long as you can. Plus if you buy a used player the company will take back your old one.

Techno trash that is been thrown away in land fills are turning in to lead. Lead is a type of poison that can go through the ground and in to the water supply that we drink from. Then when we drink the water that has the lead we will become poisoned.
